On April 2nd, 2025, our family’s world changed when my wife Morgan suffered a severe stroke just after the birth of our second son, Banks. Morgan is a devoted mother to our two young boys, Bennett and Banks, and her greatest joy has always been caring for them. Professionally, Morgan is a high-school educator who has inspired countless students in anatomy, biology, and chemistry, and she’s spent 20 years serving at a local pizza restaurant, not for the money, but for the love of her coworkers and community. Her passion for helping students pursue healthcare careers has touched many lives. Morgan’s stroke was a tremendous challenge, but her resilience and determination have been nothing short of inspiring. After five weeks in a coma and sixteen weeks in rehabilitation, Morgan is set to come home on August 29th. She has made incredible progress—walking with assistance, regaining movement in her right arm, and steadily improving her speech. Every day brings new milestones, and our family is filled with hope for her continued recovery. To support Morgan’s journey, we’ve made important updates to our home and gathered essential medical and therapy equipment. Some of the ongoing expenses include a custom wheelchair, walker, leg and shoulder braces, and stretching devices for mobility. Therapy equipment such as an exercise bike, resistance bands, weighted bars, and electro-stimulus devices are needed for her physical rehabilitation. Speech therapy resources, including specialized apps, books, and classes, as well as vision stimulation devices, are also part of her recovery plan. In addition, we’ve installed a walk-in shower, grab bars, adaptive furniture, and safety features throughout our home to ensure Morgan’s comfort and security. We will also likely need to trade in both of our current vehicles to purchase one that better adapts to Morgan’s mobility and equipment needs. This is the second GoFundMe campaign for Morgan. The first was started immediately after her injury, but at the time, we didn’t fully understand the long-term needs. Now, with Morgan’s story reaching more people and a clearer picture of what’s required, we’re reopening this fundraiser. While the experience has been taxing, we remain optimistic and grateful for the support we’ve received. Our family is focused on creating a loving, stable environment for Bennett and Banks, and we’re confident that with the help of friends, family, and our community, Morgan will continue to thrive and inspire others.
